I posted a couple of days ago about Michelle’s update from the Rio Dulce. Michelle also mentioned in her email that Floyd, Lauren and Archer, her new friends on SV T. Maru, were St. Petersburg-bound from Rio Dulce. She said we really needed to try and meet them since 9-year-old Archer would be a perfect playmate for Lily. Archer is an accomplished shell jewelry designer, sails an Opti and climbs the mast quicker than anyone. Lily was, of course, intrigued. We finally caught up with them a couple of days ago. Lily, Archer and Sam spent yesterday catching fiddler crabs in the shallow rocks and collecting palm fronds to better disguise the “marina hideout”. Today, Lily and Archer walked downtown for a serving of gelato, did a little dumpster diving for marina hideout furnishings and are now telling “Cat in Fairyland” stories in the v-berth. Archer is Seattle-bound in just a few days. Lily is going to miss her new playmate unless she persuades her to make good use of the marina hideout by hiding from her parents.
Did Lil get a haircut? She looks cute! I know she enjoys making friends!
She did get a haircut. I didn’t want to get it cut but she did. She can’t stand detangling so she wanted it short. It is easier.
oh,my gosh-Tammy, you are a creative genius. I just love your writing-way you use your words. You really need to do some article writing (ask T.Maru about Jeff on Sailor’s Run. He is one who went around the Horn and showed us all his personal, unedited filming of his 55 days,4500 mile trip. Jeff writes articles regularly for Lats 38 (?). Anyway, you have a talent that needs to be “exposed”.
i am Soooo happy about the girls getting tog ether. They are so special and part of my new club-tell them they can choose our name.
Am there w/ ALL of you in spirit
Love and miss you
Aaw, Thanks Chippy. Too nice of you. I’ve thought about sending something in but they all have such damn good writers already. Anyway, its fun to write for you, Jake, Jan, Toni and Danny. If ya’ll quit reading I may have to figure something else out. I am sure Archer will come up with a good name for the club. “Ruffians” come to mind but I can’t really take that away from the Marathon Ruffians, I guess.
Miss you toooooo.
mom, i think you have a much larger following than you’re aware of. love you guys, miss y’all a lot.
also, i read something about y’all staying in st. pete’s till november? is that just a rumor.. haha
hehe, thanks for commenting Jake. Lauren noticed your name on our boat card. I said, yeah, he’s still crew even if he’s not on board at the time. We love you and miss having you here. Still have no idea on departure/destination. Call us when you get time…
